LIVING TRACES

PIGMENTS ON THE SKIN

People are always moving – each body in its own unique way – to their own tact. Lea Tschanz places small objects, utensils and tools, soaked in pigments, onto the bodies of her family and friends, on herself. These items respond to their movements like seismometers. The results are unique traces, unexpected patterns on the skin. Lea then photographed them, in order to recall them. Colour on skin is for her jewellery – completely archaic, completely primal, and completely in the here and now.
